Welcome to Volunteer Centre
Winchester

We hope that you like our site and that you will find everything you need about volunteering in Winchester and District, either as an organisation or an individual.

There are links to other useful sites to do with volunteering, including:

• ‘Volunteering England’- for national information
• ‘Investing in Volunteers’ - the new quality standard for organisations
• ‘do-it’ - if you wish to search for a volunteering opportunity.
• WACA - Winchester Area Community Action (of whom we are a project) - the local CVS - Council for Voluntary Service, provides support and information for voluntary and community organisations in the Winchester District.

Background
Our national organisation ‘Volunteering England’ was formed in 2004 by the amalgamation of 2 previous national volunteering organisations, namely: ’Volunteering Development England’ (formerly ‘National Association of Volunteer Bureaux’) and the ‘National Centre for Volunteering’.

An outcome of this has been the creation of ‘Volunteer Centres’, a new nationally used name and branding for all former Volunteer Bureaux and similar organisations/services so that there is a common identity throughout England, the aim being to make it easier for anyone interested in volunteering to know where to go for information, support and advice. Winchester Volunteers is proud to be part of this and to become ‘Volunteer Centre – Winchester’.

So come on in and see what you can find. ENTER SITE
